Lee Pay Jia - Associate, Tenancy & Retail Design Management

Diploma from Modern Institute of Interior Design, Kuala Lumpur

Joined Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Design Studio in 2006

Ms. Lee is one of our earliest pioneers and is responsible for most of the projects in Pavilion Mall, Pavilion Tower and Fahrenheit 88.

In her current role, Ms. Lee protects the landlord's interests by ensuring that tenants' outlet designs are in line with the retail experience. This involves the skilful merging of international and domestic brand identity's look and feel with that of the retail landlord's without compromising on the prominence and strength of either brand. A fundamental requirement in ensuring the success of her role requires Ms. Lee to be well-versed with the region's latest and most exciting retail and fashion trends in order to deliver the best experience possible for landlords, retailers and customers. Naturally, this involves immersing oneself into the world of branding, consumer behaviour and the art of selling.

Ms. Lee is at the front line of the Studio and liaises between many key stakeholders in the retail outlet construction process. Her technical prowess enables her to approve designs and instil retail knowledge in terms of planning, material use, guidelines and quality expectations of the most exacting standards of Kuala Lumpur’s premier shopping destinations.

Her past experience at a renowned design consultancy took her through the motions of handling numerous mixed-use, hotel, commercial, retail and residential projects. These include Sepang Gold Coast Destination 1, Westin Hotel KL, Nexus Naga Casino Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, University Technology Mara in Selangor and the Dato’ Roger Tan Residence in Bukit Tunku, Kuala Lumpur.
